Denon DVD-2200 SACD problems

I have a DENON 2200 for over 2 years now, and I'm having a consistent problem with SACD playback. After a few tracks it starts skipping.
It always happens on the final couple of tracks, on those CD's that play longer than 40 min.
Shorter albums like the older Stones don't have this problem.
Also I have no problem with DVD-AUDIO.
Those SACDs which have this problem are playing fine in normal CD mode.

I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem and if someone can recommend a solution.
Is there a new FW for the 2200 somewhere ?

My '2200 is older than yours and I've had zero problems- it's never skipped since I've owned it. As my SACD collection numbers around fify or so, I'd suggest it's not the firmware.

SACD skipping

What can possibly cause SACD's to skip but not DVD-audio nor regular CDs ?
I am thinking of sending it to Denon for service, but not sure it will be a cost effective move.

It has to do with where the tracks are located on the disc. I don't know if it is because the player just has an issue with the laser going out of alignment slightly or what, but it doesn't happen to me on all SACDs. I have the same problem with just two SACDs with my 2900 that my 2200 had no problem with, and it does the same thing you describe. I know it is the player because my 222ES doesn't do the same thing with the same discs.

2200 skipping issues

I'm also certain the fault is in the 2200 as the same SACD discs play fine on a Pioneer 563 that I have.
I wonder if cleaning the laser would help to resolve this issue.

That would be a good first step. If cleaning doesn't do it my next suspicion would be laser alignment.

2200 skipping issues

I've just started having these same issues with my 2200 player. Discs that played fine last year now have begun skipping. The skipping only happens on Hybrid SACDs. Everything else plays fine. I did move over the summer, so perhaps it is an alignment issue. If this is the case, how would I go about getting the laser realigned?
