Greetings all...

I'm in the market for a new turntable and i have narrowed the selection down to either the Denon DP 300f or the Dual CS 415-2. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with either table? Any intel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The Thorens table is sweet, very similar to the Dual. I'm not a fan of the Project table. I don't like the way you change the speeds, by moving the belt manually...

I have a ProJect Xpression II and its a great table, running very quiet. The tonearm is phenomenal on this. It is a pain in teh ?ss to switch speeds but I listen to LPs at 33 1/3 so this is a non issue. You could purchase a ProJect speed box which allows you to vary the speed through it instead of changing belts.

I have to agree-unless you have a large collection of 45 singles or audiophile 45 rpm reissues, manual belt changes are not something you will have to deal with much, if at all. My VPI HW-19 Mk IV (a $2,000+ table when new) also requires moving the belt on the spindle for speed changes, which is typical for most, if not all, high end turntables. I did get an SDS (VPI's electronic speed control), which lets me change the speed electronically and control the variations in AC supply frequency (the TT has an AC motor), but I don't think I have ever used that feature since I set it up.
