Denon AVR-X4100w or Marantz SR7008?

Hi,

I can get the Denon for 1300euro, the Marantz for 1100euro (amazon.de). The main reason I am buying it is for the Audyssey xt32 / SUBEQ functionality - The receiver would be outputting to the Subwoofer(svs pb-13ultra), and to the Amplifier(ASR Emitter).

Thus far I seem to find much more info on the Marantz, as in better reviews, and just more information. Anybody played with these two and could give me an idea?

any information appreciated,

Alon.

The Marantz SR7008 has Audyssey XT32 and I would get it if it is cheaper by 200 euros.

Basically both of these AVR have about the same functions and SQ. So just get the one that is cheaper.

In the USA, the Denon 4100 is $100 USD cheaper than the Marantz 7008.

In terms of functionality, there are two factors in favor of the X4100W as it's a newer model (hence why you can't find much info on it):
1. Dolby Atmos
2. Integrated WiFi & Bluetooth
If neither of those things matter to you, might as well save a few bucks and run with the Marantz.

The bluetooth&wifi option actually sounds pretty damn neat. But my top priority is quality being outputted into the sub/amp. they are all between 1000-1250euro, x4000, x4100w, SR7008, and it's a present so, I could swing whichever, you know?

So far I'm more inclined to go with the x4100w, the bluetooth&wifi would make things very easy... Like, when my parents guests arrive they could just hook up to it via wifi and play their music or whatever.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll wait a few more days to see if maybe somebody had the chance to compare the receivers(though, I highly doubt it, but then again, who knows) - and then if things stand as they are I'll go with the x4100w ;).

After seeing Gene's review, I would go up one notch to the X5200W, or the old 4520.
