Denon AVR-X1400H Monitor Display not working

So this week scored a Denon AVR X1400H for $100 on ebay. The seller thought the hdmi was broken. It kind of is but I got it to work with a new hdmi cord. It allowed me to at least enter the setup but the monitor displayed part of the setup ends when you select the language.

I do have the User Manual PDF on my PC.

It will not display further or even show anything on the monitor now. I had to set up Audyssey with the remote and receiver display only. Still working with that and getting it online so I can use the APP. It does the Audyssey setup and sounds pretty good.

How do I get the receiver to display on my monitor again? It's weird how it does work if I reset the receiver. Still, it turns off after you select the language and then all I can use is the display on the receiver via remote.

I plugged it into my network and can see it there. Unfortunately, the 1400 is not accessible via web browser. The phone APP does not detect any receivers either.

Sorry for the scatter of info. I am missing something here and ignorance is not a good guide.

Any ideas?

Sorry. I replied but it did not post.
I am using a Sceptre PC monitor with a new hdmi from walmart. The 4K 60 hz one. It did not display anything with an older hdmi. I also tried a Seiki tv I have down here. There is an older LG in the kitchen I could try it with.

BTW the receiver just updated. Same issue persists.

Not familiar with the monitor (model?), but just wondered if it's a match for the video output of the avr. Don't know what a Siki tv is, that a Seiki perhaps?

LG doesn't work. I have the OSD set to Always which should mean it is always displaying. I guess I will ask Denon. Weird. It works fine otherwise.

What are the monitor specs for display? Assume there's a mismatch if typical tvs don't work.

32" Sceptre E325W-2560AD

2560 x 1440 QHD resolution 85Hz refresh rate over DP, HDMI is 60HZ

Thing is, the damn monitor is the only one to have worked at all. Now it won't show anything though.

I've just seen comments from others trying to use computer monitors with differing native resolution where issues arose. 2560x1440 is not a tv resolution. I can't explain why the initial screen shows....but now that it doesn't work with the tvs either I think goes back to the unit having some sort of hdmi board issue.

Yeah. I had the same initial thought. It would not surprise me. Looks like it took a tumble. The selector knob is missing. Oh well. For $100 I can live with it not working 100%

Thank you for the help.
