Hi Guys, I have my mac book , ps3 and Verizon Fios DVRs hooked up thru my 790 to my Samsung old plasma tv. I am the only one in the house hold who uses the home theater speakers setup and my wife normally uses only the tv speakers for all these devices. She normally has the receiver on the stand-by mode when operating these devices.

With the PS3 and Macbook, the audio is transferred to the TV with no problems. Last week i got my FIOS DVR hooked up to the receiver and when i have the receiver in the standby mode, audio is not passed on to the TV.

When everything is working and when i turn off the receiver , the sound comes on in the TV for 2 secs and then the screen flickers and the audio is gone. Only the video shows from that point. However this is not the case with the PS3 or the computer.

I swapped the HDMI port and cables with no help. I also plugged in the dvr directly to the TV and got the sound. Should i use the component cables instead of the regular HDMi for dvr to receiver and try?

I have HDMI control ON and pointing to the AMP instead of TV. The manual says that the receiver remebers the last HDMI connection and passes that thru and that is why i beleive that i get audio for 2 secs.

Anyone with any pointers? thanks!
