Denon AVR-5803 vs AVR-3805

I've an opportunity to swap my 3805 w/ my neighbor's 5803. He's an older gentleman (mid-80's), and finds the 5803 too complex and wants a more simple receiver.

Many times I've found myself wanting a 2nd set of 8-ch external inputs, to use with a Blu-ray player that has at least 6-ch analog outputs, and decodes the 2 lossless audio codecs to pcm.

Buying such a Blu-ray player would be cheaper than a new hdmi receiver (another way to enjoy lossless audio), but additionally, the 5803 has more power (170wpc vs 120wpc on the 3805), and I would imagine it is a better sounding receiver for both 2-ch and multi-ch music, as well, but don't now for sure.

Only downside for me logisitcally is I'd have to modify my Salamander stand to hold the beast, as at 8.5" tall, it is huge.

Any other thoughts I'm missing?
