Denon AVR-4306 PC DVI Out into HDMI

Hope you can help me guys. I am upgrading my home theater equipment. Planning to use a Denon AVR-4306 as the receiver.

I have a media center pc with a graphics card that has a DVI output.

I was wondering if the DVI output can go into one of the 4306's HDMI inputs (with a DVI to HDMI cable of course). I thought I had heard that the DVI output from the computer is different than video equipment DVI.

This will be output to the HDMI input on a Sony XBR2 LCD.

I could use the vga input on the LCD, not really a problem but just wanted to put all of my video switching through the 4306 if possible.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this.

Steve.

Video cables

The DVI to HDMI cable should not be a problem because the video section of DVI and HDMI are identicle. This is why they can build adapter cables. Of course, you will need a digital coax or optical cable from the PC to the Denon to cary the audio signal.
