Denon AVR 3808ci problem

So, i was trying to watch football on my HDMI Projector, thats hooked up to a 3808ci Denon. Im using a Cablevision HD Cable Box. Basically, the problem is that the signal to the receiver will stop every minute and come back on. The projector shows a black screen while it searches for a signal from the receiver so it will flicker black then catch the signal again. It's annoying and this problem just appeared recently. I dont know if its a problem with the receiver, cable box, or projector. Any help would be appreciated.

Update: It's not a problem with the HDMI cable, ive already replaced it

Consider using an HDMI switcher. Wait, first try running the cable box with an HDMI DIRECTLY to projector (no receiver in between). If this works, then get a switcher. Or you can also try component output on cable box to receiver, and have receiver transcode to HDMI output, and maybe that can work.

This is likely an HDCP handshake issue, and while it can be the fault of any of the in line components, it is most likely the STB itself.

Try the above two experiments, and report back. For your audio, just run SPDIF from cable box to receiver, if any of the two experiments work. Yes, it's not quite as sexy, but even with the switcher, all you need to do is hit one extra remote button, and that's assuming you don't have macro programming to begin with.

I had a similar problem with my Optoma projector. It's the projector. I had it fixed.

That does not mean you have the same problem. But I'm just saying what my problem was - the projector.

Also, have you done anything differently like updating FIRMWARE?

Those firmwares can be a headache sometimes.
