So i really dont know that much about home audio but i figured who better to ask than the people on this forum, so i was thinking about going with the avr-3805, i need the ability to send audio in to a second room. I dont need the denon link feature i was wondering if there is a better reciever out there for the price? ($850-$999) im mainly concerned with SQ. Also what speakers would you reccomend for use with the reciever ($1500-$1700) budget. Thanks in advance for any help. I tried to look for myself but everywhere i looked every review had a different opinion so i figured it would be better just to ask the people that use them.

Suggestions . . .

If I had that budget, I'd check out the Yamaha RX-V2500 and speakers from Axiom audio. Both have been reviewed and hightly reccomended by this site. You might also take a look at the "What To Buy" Link on this site for other speaker and receiver recomendations.

I have a Denon AVR-3805 and love it, currently I'm driving a pair of Paradigm Monitor 11's and I have a Paradigm PW-2100 Sub. The 11's sound awesome with the 3805 driving them so I highly recommend both the speakers and the receiver, high volumes are crystal clear and clean with no sign of strain whatsoever. Having said that however there's definitely other good receivers out there in the same range, the Yamaha RXV2500 or RXV4600, Marantz SR8400 or SR8500, Pioneer VSX56TXi or VSX55TXi, and the Harmon Kardon AVR635 or AVR7300 and with regards to Speakers there's Axiom and many other excellent speakers.

Good Luck

If you like the 3805 then check out the 2805 for a few hundred dollars less. They have similar features and have the same multiroom functions. I use my 3805 to distribute audio via a seperate amp into two zones. You can easily use the internal amps on either receiver to power two zones as long as you either use an impedance matching speaker selector or volume controls.
