I was hoping that someone might be able to help me. I did not purchase the microphone for the room auto-setup….is there another way? Is there a substitute that I could get from radio shack or some other place. $65 is a lot on top of the cost of the receiver for set up…

Also, I am using older Magnaplanar 4 ohm speakers that I would like to keep up front and then add Definitive Technology pro monitor 200 speakers for the sides and back, Definitive Technology procenter c2 for the center and a Definitive Technology prosub 100 subwoofer.

Also, I have an old but very good Mitsubishi power amp (DA-A15) that I thought might be good to add for bi-amp.

Any thoughts, helpful tips would sure be appreciated as we're very new to all of this.

My wife and I are very new to all of this…..

Thanks again

The AVR3805 does not need the microphone that is an option from denon. Your local dealer can still get you one if your having second thoughts. Other options include purchasing an after market microphone. A basic microphone like the on that you mentioned from Radio Shack should do the trick. The auto-room eq doesn't not make a huge difference, so you might want to save the money and just buy a SPL meter from Radio Shack instead. The SPL meter can greatly improve your systems performance more then the AVR3805's built in set-up.
