Hi all--

I'm new to this forum but have been reading reviews from all of you on the Denon AVR-3805. I decided to buy one and it should be arriving next week. Does anyone have the optional microphone for this unit for the Auto Setup feature? Can I borrow one or rent one from someone out there.

I'm new to this forum but I have a very high rating on ebay and I'm a very honest guy. I live in Los Angeles and just need it for about a week. Please email me if you can help me out. thom@babbesuniplex.com

Thanks.

If you can afford $1200 for a AVR-3805, you can afford $60 for the lousy mic. Honest.

Another option that the Tweeter sales guy even suggested to me was order a mic pay for it, then return it withing a few days. They said they had no problems with that.

However I decided to keep it because I tend to change speakers often, and my wife tends to move furinture often.

Depending on your use, I would also recommend buying the microphone. It is very useful for setup and you may want to run the auto-eq several times while you get your equipment and speakers setup. I've had my 3805 for 3-4 months and run the eq pretty frequently due to adjustments and speaker positioning.

That being said, your dealer might offer a "loaner" mic that you could borrow for setup. Many dealers are doing this because of the extra cost of the mic. It's not a big deal, but $65 is $65. Otherwise just buy it...it's worth owning.

Buy the microphone. You will need it everytime you make a change. Which in my case seems like everyday. Sheesh, I am constantly tweaking and re eq-ing thinking I can get better sound.
