denon avr-3803 buzzing

I have searched the forums for this issue and couldn't find anything, so I hope this hasn't been posted before...

I'm having an odd problem with my denon avr-3803. I was using it with just 4 speakers until a couple days ago, when I added a powered sub. But I noticed that whenever the sub is plugged into the sub-out on the 3803, all my 4 speakers have a buzzing sound. It doesn't even matter if the sub is turned on or off, if that RCA cable is connected between the 3803 and the sub, the buzzing comes back in my speakers.

Is anyone aware of a grounding issue with the 3803 or anything else that would account for this?

update

Update 1: I did more testing today, and turns out it doesn't matter if it's plugged into my sub specifically. I plugged the RCA cable from the 3803's sub-out into the input on my tape deck (while it was turned off), and same thing. So it seems that any connection between the 3803's sub-out and anything else causes this problem.

Update 2: More testing. The buzzing comes from ALL speakers regardless of what mode the amp is in (stereo, even "pure direct"). There shouldn't be any signal going to the rear speakers in these modes, but the buzzing gets there.

Update 3: The problem isn't limited to the sub-out on the amp. Same buzzing happens whenever any patch cord is plugged into any of the line-level outputs on the receiver and into any other device.

Anyone?

I'm just guessing here, ground loop problem?

Do a search on the net on the ground loop problem and how you can fix it.

Perhaps the problem is in the subwoofer.
Try to get another one and plug it in, just to be sure.
