I bought the Denon AVR-2807 receiver, not Knowing what I was getting into. Every other receiver I have had was for the most part plug and play. There was no remote or instructions. I bought the operating instructions off Ebay. I called Denon and they walked me through to the point where I got video but no audio(from the blu-ray) through the receiver to the speakers connected to the receiver. I got no video or audio from the the TV(Model LC401EM2F). I am confused as to how the HDMI cables work. The told me that the audio can flow from the TV to the receiver and also from TV to receiver through the same HDMI cable. I am getting video from blu-ray to TV through the monitor, but not getting audio through the HDMI from TV through receiver to speakers. I have the HDMI cable plugged into Monitor on the receiver and HDMI1 on the TV. I do get auido from TV when I hook RCA cables from TV audio-out to receiver TV audio-in. I also can't get the AM or FM to work. HELP!!!

FWIW the manual is still available for download from Denon, I just did.

The hdmi thing that can bring audio back from your tv to the avr over the single hdmi cable is called ARC (Audio Return Channel) and it does not appear your 2807 supports it (and your tv would need to as well). If you don't have ARC use the rca cables from the tv audio out like you are, or perhaps it has a digital audio output you can connect instead.

Thank you. I am just learning. I now am trying to get the am/fm to play. I don't know how to set it up. I tried following the instructions. I think I set the stations. I don't know how to tune in to the stations to listen without the remote, or even if I have it set up correctly. I shall keep working with it until I get a remote.
Thanks again.

I'd think you could do most of the setup without a remote but I didn't read but a little of the manual. Shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement (or use a universal remote like a Logitech Harmony remote). Good luck!

Thanks. I'll be working on it. I see the onscreen choices. I jus don't know the setting sequences. How would I tune the FM to stations without a remote?

There's a denon remote app for Android in the play store that might work for you. I don't know if there's one for Apple though.

With the tuning knob and controls on the front panel of the avr I would assume....looks like the manual covers equivalent controls on remote to front panel starting on page 25...

Seriously, I have no life.

You need to go into he menu while listening to the radio, so you can access the Auto Tune feature. Once the stations in your area are set, you can block the ones you don't want but I would really advise getting the Harmony remote before trying to set it up- it's a lot easier.

Mind if I ask why you chose that model instead of something newer?
