Denon AVR-2807 and Denon Link...

Haven't seen any specs to indicate whether this receiver will have Denon Link or not. Has anyone heard any news or seen any specs? Just curious.

I have not been a part of the Denon bandwagon, but this receiver seems to be an incredibly attractive package.

Enjoy,

The backpanel photographs that I've seen don't have the Denon Link feature. Unless Denon decides to release some lesser expensive DVD players with Denon link, their least expensive DVD player with Denon link costs about as much as I paid for my AVR-3806! At that price point, using HDMI is fine by me!

You're absolutely right, IMO. Sometimes Denon seems to be too much conservative ones. Not sure about costs involved, but I don't believe that the D-Link cost is that high as to avoid having its benefits spreaded on cheaper DVD models (which, by the way, Denon has a bunch of).

Cheers / Avliner.

Amen to that!

Gotta agree with the general consensus on Denon Link. The cheapest Denon universal disc player with Denon Link (3910) is considerably more expensive than the receiver you mentioned. Doesn't seem worth it to me just to avoid the 6 cables you'd have to hook up (One Time) for DVD-A and SACD.
Of course, that's just my opinion; I could be wrong...

So is it true that Audessey works on the analog inputs? (for instance, it does not for the HK-635)

My review (If you Care)

Well, I've lived with the 2807 for about a week and I have some solid information to post. First of all, I am not the usual buyer who is looking for a HDMI switcher. I have several of these on my new Toshiba 1080p and had no intention of using the 2807. A Harmony remote does all the macro commands necessary to switch the sources via the original connections.

So what about that sound? Previously, I had a Denon 1602 and wanted an upgrade that could be heard. This is it. I allowed the Audyssey Lab tech to measure 6 positions in the room and come up with its best solution. I am very, very pleased. All speakers were detected as large: my fronts are Polks and surrounds are NHT. At first I was insulted, but on a second reading, complimented. This simply means fully responsive. The only change I made was to allow the subwoofer to share response with the mains, LFE+main.

Upon listening to CD's using the Direct circuity (AL 24 processing), stellar. My mains are now bi-amped with the back 2 channels and it is stunning. Previously, Comcast's MusicMatch was great background music at low levels. Now, using the Dolby Prologic 2 Music mode, it is great to turn up the volume and listen closer. Each channel is not equal, the jazz and country sound the best. The thumper channels are not on my agenda.

Movies are really special. I had a copy of "Dirty" last night. It rocked the room so much that I had to turn it down. The special effects were flying around the room like Fox graphics.

All in all, it is quite an improvement for me. There is a lot to tinker with, but that is part of the fun.
