denon avr-2805 install question-can't get on screen display

I have just installed the avr-2805 and not being an engineer, having some difficulty. I have install all video devices as the manual shows, but cannot get the on-screen programming to appear. Any help would be appreciated.

Check cable from a/v to tv. Push amp and hit menu on remote. Still no luck, make sure pure direct is not on.

I've heard some unts...

...don't pass the on-screen menus through the component video path. They require either S-video or composite.

...just a rambling thought that may have no bearing on the matter...

markw, i might be reading your post wrong, but all i have is component cables run and no problems with on screen menu's.

No, you read it right. As I said, I read that SOME units (not necessarialy this unit) don't pass on screen info through the component video. As I stated, it was not a guarantee that this unit was among them. If you have the 2805 then this may rule out one problem.

The original question was asked on 2/16? Anyway, I spent most of the day installing my 2805 and the screens come up on component video. As a previous post, make sure the remote is set to AMP, by pressing one of the buttons, Tape, CDR/MD, or CD and then hit setup. The menus will start. Set up went well. Only had to readjust the sub settings.
