So basically i can find both of these recievers for the same price ($400) and i'm trying to determine which one to get. I have a 1080p pioneer plasma screen, tivo HD, xbox 360 (non hdmi), PS3, Wii... i watch movies and play games alot on the system.

i am leaning towards the Denon right now but i just need more seasoned opinions (greenhorn here)

Denon, it has the best processing capabilities. It features HDMI 1.1 repeating, so it can pass up to 1080p resolution and process audio from SACD, DVD-Audio, and 7.1 LPCM from an HD DVD or Blu-ray player (most, if not all HD players can decode Dolby TrueHD and convert it to 7.1 Lossless LPCM)

They are in the same weight class and same power class. The Denon offers much more for the money, even for $100-200 more it is still a better deal IMO. The Pioneer's HDMI is pass-thru only.
