What are you going to use if for?? Here are the specifications: Denon AVR-2106 Specs - CNET

It is a pretty old unit and manufactured in 2005/06. Are you going buy from someone you know that it will work, being that old?

I know it's old, I've read the specifications, but I don't know if it will sound good because they are newer speakers..I would use it for music and movies

If for watching movies, what devise will you be using? Did you compare what cables are compatible to use between the 2106 and movie devise? The 2106 does NOT have HDMI input, if that is an issue. There is enough amp power if using the right speakers having 6 ohm or 8 ohm.

What sources do you plan to use?
(Blu-ray, streaming, streaming with smart TV apps etc.)

New speakers are the same as they have been for 20 years plus, what counts is what features and connections you will need.

You can send the TV audio out of the optical port into an optical port on the Denon AVR 2106. This will get you Dolby Digital 5.1 from apps that support it.

Also check that the TV can send 5.1 dolby digital out through an optical output, some only do stereo.

Should have one. Newer models should support 5.1 from optical but not every app supports 5.1 on every TV and you will just have to try them. When making connection, set TV audio output in settings to Optical Out, not TV speakers.

Yes, you can connect any compatible ports from the PC into the receiver and get sound.
