Denon AVR-1908 setup help

I am new at setting up these audio/video receivers. Needless to say, they have come a long way since rca jacks and speaker wire.
Anyhow, I somehow got the DVD player to work throught the receiver. I hooked it up via HDMI. The output HDMI is going to my Mitsu PJ. I get a picture as well as audio, no problem. However, I have my cable box (sci/atlanta) hookedup to the back of the Denon AVR-1908 via component. I get audio, but no video passing through to my Mitsu PJ. The Denon's menu system is fairly confusing. Can someone walk me through how to set up the inputs for the component devices, so that I can get video to output to my PJ via HDMI?
Thanks in advance...

The 1908 does not do analog to HDMI conversion, as far as I can see. If you want your component video converted to HDMI, you will have to step up to at least the 2308. If you can still return the 1908 and upgrade the receiver to one that will do what you need, that would be your best option.
