Denon AVR-1606 vs Onkyo SR-506

I am amazed at what you can get for around $350 MSRP. I need a budget receiver for my bedroom to power my 5.1 in-wall system and a pair of ceiling speakers in the bathroom. I have a new Panasonic 42" 720p plasma, Samsung DVD-1080P8 and Motorola cable box. (All HDMI)

Which one and why?

That's easy. If price is equal, always get the Denon The reason is their workmanship and reputation in power handling is second to none. Onkyo revived their lineup with last year's release... but it has yet been battle tested to last the ages whereas Denon's proven durability is an added peace of mind

I would probably wait and see if I can snag their xx9 model for a bargain because I am starting to get annoyed with the commercials disrupting my volume levels. The audssey XTs in the Denon xx9 models EQ's that - really cool feature in my book
