Denon AVR 1500 "Protection"

I have a Denon AVR 1500 to which I recently installed speakers on the ceiling and attempted to re-connect.

Afterwards it started making static noise from one of the speakers and the sound would shut off, then gives a warning Protection on the dial.

Any idea what could be causing it?

Thanks

Carlos

Check and make sure the speaker wires are not touching each other, either at the receiver or the speakers.

I disconnected all wires and took the unit to a separate place, BY ITSELF, no wires just the A/C plug and it still gave me Protection message. Any ideas? Should I repair it? Is it worth it?

Thanks,

Carlos

Sounds like an accidental bridge somewhere on the speaker connections. If it isn't external, it must be internal. If it's under warranty, just take it back to the place where it was purchased. If it's not under warranty, take it to a repair facility. It's worth it if it costs less than a couple hundred dollars to repair, which I can't imagine it would be more than that.
