Denon AVR 1500 help please??

I have a Denon AVR 1500 and have gotten many great years out of it. I just bought a new house and installed some new rear speakers for my theater system.

I ran all the wires and tested the sound and now have no sound out of the Right main speaker channel. I checked all the cables and even tried to reset the system (power, hold audio/video, plug back in) and got nothing. I unplugged the speaker from left side (which was working fine) and plugged it into the right side and got nothing.

What could possibly be wrong? I'm not sure if i hit a button or if something inside got disconnected.

I was hoping it was something other than a blown channel. It had been working perfectly fine (i think) until today.

Unfortunately more then likely you have a blown right channel.

If you don't get the test tones to come out of that channel, and the wiring is correct, then you have a blown channel.

To make sure disconnect the right channel at the back of the receiver and connects a 1.5 volt battery to the speaker wire. Make and break the circuit and you should get a pop from your right speaker with every make and break. If so the wiring is OK, and it is new receiver time.

Thank you very much. I was crossing my fingers, hoping that wasn't it. It's been a good receiver for me for many years. I was actually just looking online to see what would work best for me.

I just got the Panasonic TC-P65GT30 65" 3D plasma TV and want a system to truly enjoy the theater experience.

I started building my home entertainment system 20 years ago when i was in college. Needless to say some parts are starting to wear out.

I currently have a Denon AVR1500 that i think just lost the right channel front main speaker. I get no sound. I'm in the market for a new receiver but need help on what would work best for me. I just bought the 65" Panasonic
3D TC-P65GT30 plasma for my TV.

I have Energy front main speakers, and a Yamaha center and Yamaha rear wall mounts for the back. My M&K sub went out about two months ago and all I get now is low hum.

I'm looking for opinions on the best receiver for between $400 and $600. (limited due to new tv and Jeep Wrangler upgrades) I mainly need it for movies and television, with a small amount of music at times. Also I will more than likely get a new sub once i replenish my funds. Hopefully my bonus checks will come at the end of July.

I know this has been asked a million times but I'm hoping someone can help me out based on my current setup. I have the Sony 3D DVD player and DirecTV also.

It would help to know the speaker models and the size of your space for sub sizing.

Let me first say I’m a fan of Denon/Audyssey. The Denon 1911/12, 2111 features MultEq while the 2112 gets an upgrade to MultEq XT. I would say the XT is worth the upgrade if you can afford it.

The Marantz 5005 also offers MultEq.

The Yamaha 667 would also be a decent option.

The Onkyo 708 also offers MultEq, but Onkyo’s reliability can be more hit/miss.

It would help to know the speaker models and the size of your space for sub sizing.

I have the Energy Audissey A3+2 front speakers, a Pioneer Elite T2MC09 center channel and had an M&K V125 sub that i think just died. (just humms)

My living room is approx 25' X 35' and opens into the kitchen area that is prob about the same size as the living room. I have cathedral ceilings that go from the front, over my living room, peaks at the break bt living room and kitchen, and down to the other side of the kitchen. (not sure if you can visualize) It's a pretty large open space from my living room into the kitchen.

The TV is going to be mounted just to the left of the highest point of the ceiling. I have the rear speakers mounted in the wall behind my couch.

I can probably spend around $1000 for the receiver. I have the Sony 3D DVD player and want to get the most out of my movie experience. I also have DirecTV.

What do you suggest?

I was definitely bummed when the sub went out. I have two big dogs (one's still a pup) and i dont know if they did something to it or not. Their toys are in a basket right next to the sub. One day it worked and the next it sounded terrible.

I was looking at the Denon AVR 3312. What is the main difference in it and the 3311, and would it be a waste of money with my current setup to go with the 3312? I don't want to spend money on something that has more features than i need.

It took me several years to aquire all the pieces in the first place. The Denon tape deck and the Denon CD player all became obsolete. I haven't gotten anything new in prob 20 years. Lately I've been spending money on my two Jeeps.

The 3312 doesn't add much: Airplay, 1 more HDMI, ARC on both HDMI outs. I'm not sure it's worth it for you.

I ended up ordering the 3311. It's supposed to be delivered 6/21. I can't wait to see what new technology looks like and sounds like.
