Just curious to know when the announcements may come for new product this year?
(I was slightly hoping for something to come out of CES... just a shimmer of a hint... ;) )

Well, unless they can source those AKM DAC chips, I'm not sure I'd be interested in getting a 2022 model over a 2021 model.

Velvet - definition of velvet by The Free Dictionary
1.velvet - smooth and soft to sight or hearing or touch or taste

This is hilarious, I can't help but think that since Denon, Marantz, Anthem, Onkyo and others also have been using (until spring 2021) the AKM DAC chip, yet only Marantz has the warm smooth sound, and with or without the DAC??:D

Good a thread as any to ask... Does anyone else have to use the audio sync feature on their Denon or Marantz because of lag on the hdmi inputs?

I had to set mine to 125ms for my Roku going into the NR1200. It was noticeable enough to annoy me... Plugging the roku directly into the tv had no noticeable lag.

Allows them to charge more.

Buttery smooth is SO last decade. Velvety smooth is where it's at!!

No, I’ve not noticed any lag on my Denon AVR for Blueray, TV or Chromecast input, but then I’ve not looked that closely. Perhaps I’ll find a clapping test YouTube clip to check.

When I watch off air channels on the TV, it always gradually gets out of sync until finally the sound quits altogether. I don't know if this is something that the Denon (8500HA) can fix or not. I have no lag problems with any other devices, including streaming from some apps on the TV. very puzzling
