Denon 5910 vs the 5910CI

I cutrrently own the Denon DVD-5910 DVD Player.

I am wondering if anyone knows if their is a way to upgrade it to the current CI version, and if their is even a reason to do so.

I have a HDTV, but it maxes out at 1080i, and my understanding is that the technology in the CI version is the same as the regular 5910, except that the CI vesrion can display up to 1080p. Other then that, does anyone know if the technology between the two versions are any different?

You can upgrade your unit for $300. Just go to the website. I didn't want to wait for the turnaround time, so I sold my 5910 and purchased a 5910ci. I think it is just the 1080p and related hardware/software upgrades.
