Well I've decided to keep the 5803 and I also aquired a Yamaha M-65 power amp (FREE!!). I have sold the front speakers and I am in the process of replacing. I got a great deal on a Meadowlark Audio center through their direct liquidation. Its a 4ohm speaker. I am also considering a pair KEF Reference Model Ones ($500!)...also a 4ohm load. I know the Yammie would have no trouble with the KEFs...my concern is the Meadowlark center (not yet arrived). Will the 5803 be OK with the center? I am thinking it should, especially since the front channel load being handled by the yammie.

I did a forum search, but didn't come up with anything. Sorry if this has been answered before.

5803 has a pretty beefy power supply, so I don't think it will be a problem. The more immediate problem I'd say is that you are going to have a mis-matched front stage.

Thanks J...Yeah, I knew the mismatched front stage would get a comment or two. I have had it both ways and I continue change them in and out. I am moving to the UK in the spring and I am sure I will have alot of equipment in a smaller room so HT will not be as important to me. I think I am still at an experimental stage. Two channel is a very important thing for me at the moment...besides I couldn't pass up the deal on the meadowlark.
