Denon 4310, No Left Surround

I’ve spent the weekend setting up my Axiom HT system w/ my Denon 4310. I don’t get a test tone from the left surround.

1) I’ve double-checked my connections. In fact, I had a “tone” using a different AVR while checking my connections.
2) Might there be some programming or set up glitch (e.g., A vs. B, etc.) that I’m simply overlooking?
3) Can I select “rear surround” or “B surround” and get to the same place? Granted, if my AVR has a glitch, this is not the ideal situation, but after a weekend of work I need some instant gratification.

Any other ideas to get sound out of my left surround? Thanks.

Is this a new receiver? If not, did it work properly before?
Most likely it may be a setup issue but it is surprising that the right rear works but not the left. Can you recheck that left rear speaker to make sure it still works.

Verify that the connections at the speaker are good (you can use a AA battery to pop the speaker from the receiver end). If that works, make sure the speaker wires are inserted fully and there's no insulation keeping the connection from being made.

Also, make sure the wires are inserted in the correct terminals. It's really easy to get that wrong if you're laying on your side with limited space/visibility, like I did yesterday. Two hands blocking the view makes that incredibly easy to do.
