Denon 4306 - Zone 2

All,

I have a Denon 4306 with the following Ins:

Comp 1: Xbox 360
Comp 2: DTV HD DVR (HR20)
Comp 3: Nintendo Wii

Video 1: DirecTV R-15 (Composite)
Video 2: Xbox (S-Video)

I have another TV (connected Component to Zone 2 Out) in the same room, and sometime want to play the 360 on the alternate source, while watching the DirecTV HR20. Can the Denon do this? If so, How?

Yes, you should be able to. Since you have the Xbox also connected via S-video, I believe you also need to connect your TV to the S-video Zone 2 output. Zone 2 video only works over composite or S-video.

So, if I want to play a component source through Zone 2, it wont work, correct? I thought the amp could downsample the signal?

See manual pg. 15. It will only down-convert from component in the main zone.
