Denon 4306 active HDMI?

Just rec'd a Denon 4306, which will replace an aging Pioneer rec'vr. I haven't installed the 4306 as yet, but want to connect my Directv tuner thru the 4306 via HDMI to the Sony TV which is straightforward. Does any 4306 HDMI connection remain active when the rev'r is powered down - perhaps last one used? I am thinking of my wife, who appreciates simplicity, as she won't use the 4306 and theater speakers, just the TV speakers. If no active HDMI port remains active then I'll connect the Directv tuner directly to the TV (as it is now) and cable the TV audio out back to the 4306, just mute the TV speakers when I want to use the whole system. That will work, of course, just thinking of minimizing the cabling. Thanks for any comments!

Did you check the manual/setup menu for HDMI options for pass thru etc?

Yes, checked video setup, did not find mention of active or pass through after power down. Will try for that option after I set it up. Thanks for your suggestion.
