Happy New Year everyone!
I am having an issue with my 3910 and was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing. When I want to listen to to HDCDs, the player has a difficult time reading the discs. I have to open and close the drawer several times in order to get it to read. Its new, purchased in November, so cleanliness is not an issue. All other discs play fine. I've contacted Crutchfield and they said to reset the player by turning it off, then back on. If that did not help, then it may be a bad lense, they said.

Any one else have this issue?

Thanks.

I've got the 2910, so this might not be applicable, but I've never had a problem with playing any of the formats; the only time I have to re-load a disc is when I'm changing a hybrid SACD from mode to another (SACD 5.1 to 2 ch, or to CD). Sounds like you ought to talk to Crutchfield about a new player.

Bryan...what rec/pre/pro do you use with this player?...

I own the 3910, and have not had any issues. The only HDCD I own is Lateralus. And regardless of whether the 3910 is decoding it, or my 3805, I've never experienced any issues.

With my 3910, occasionally I do have to open and close the drawer two or three times for it to recognize the disc. But this is not often. I've had it this player for almost a month and it only happened two or three times. I do not think it was specific to HDCD though.

Spoke with sales rep today and a replacement unit is on the way. Hope this will resolve the issue. Thanks for all the posts! :)
