Denon 3910 DVD-A advise

Hey. Not quite a noobie, but not a techgeek either. I recently upgraded from a Pioneer Elite DV45 player to my current Denon 3910. The denon is a much better unit in every way. Problem is that my DVD audio discs aren't working correctly. I can get the display menu on my tv screen, but no sound. I can get the sound up, but then no picture.
The 3910 is running through my prepro, an audio refinement dsp2, with analog outs for 5.1. I am using component video hookups, as well as a digital optic cable. The prepro runs sacd and dvd a 's through the A1 input (analog), and movies through the D1 input, (digital). Movies work great. Sacd's work great.
I didn't have this problem on the 45a. Is my 3910 confused on the dvda's? Or is this operator failure?
appreciate your advice in advance. great site and i lurk a lot. davetwotrees

For whatever reason, the Pre2DSP processor won't let you run the component video feed from the dvd player through the processor and then to the tv without compromising the dvda playback capabilities. I ran the component video from the 3910 straight to the tv and all is well!
