I just wanted to list a thread about the Denon 3808ci. I have had mine for about two months now. i have not had a lot of time to play with it lately but the other day, i bought me another computer for my house, a mac, and now i am streaming everything from my Mac to my PS3 or my receiver. its a sweet deal. i am finding out a lot of cool things i can do with my receiver. I did not know about internet radio till the other day. it is very sweet. I can also see my iMac from the bedroom on the receiver. its a cool little piece of hardware. i like being able to see my iTunes account in the living room and listen to all my music. if anyone else has any cool little tricks they can do with their Denon please post. I want to learn to do as much as possible with my Denon!

Interesting post...

I've had my 3808 for about 2 weeks and I am also curious to what full capabilities and functions this thing has. My dealer told me that the owner's manual was put together by engineers so it doesn't always make common sense to everyone. I tried going through as much as I could but I know there is much that I can still learn.

With the Internet feature, does the receiver find internet radio stations once the receiver is connected to the internet via the ethernet cable?

My plan is to use our laptop which has wireless internet to get the internet radio stations. Also, will the receiver locate music files (eg. wma, mp3, etc.) automatically once the laptop is connected by the ethernet cable?

There are plenty of engineers who can write clearly, and grasp the English language fine enough. The problem is the poor translation from Japanese, most likely done by a Japanese . . . engineer? :p

The Dawg would tell you to just trash the manual and look towards fellow users for guidance. Good luck.

as far as the owner manual, it just tells you the basic information, i did not think it was too bad but it does not describe the full potential this receiver can do.

I have mine connected through a switch via Ethernet. My house is all hardware wired with CAT 5 cable. As soon as i plugged it into the Ethernet port, do not do what i did and plug it into the denon link, it worked perfect. Internet radio was super clear and i had a bunch of radio stations to listen too. I like the internet radio, it gives me a lot more choice of music, i am just goofing off at the house or outside.

The one thing i wish the Denon would do, or it might, i want it to show my album art work on my cds in iTunes or what ever source i need to put them into. It aslo needs some form of visulizer on the screen during music playback.

just my opinion but its a great receiver and i still will work to get the most out of it.
