Does any one know if it is possible to direct the bass of front speakers to the sub other then using the "small" setting? I was looking to cross them over at around 45 HZ to better accomodate my Mains.

Thanks in advance for any help

Does your sub also have the Low Level RCA L+R inputs in addition to the regular LFE input?

If yes, just hook a stereo L+R cable from the Denon Front L+R Preamp Output to the Sub's L+R inputs.

No Dice

My sub does not have that option. Even if i did that, it still would not stop those frequencies from going to my front mains.

Pages 28 & 29 of your user manual describes how to set your crossover for your sub. It does not give you 45hz the closest is 40 or 60.

It looks like if you set your subwoofer mode to LFE+Main (pg 28) you can have the speakers set to large and set the crossover to what you want for each speaker (pg29).

My auto setup configured each speaker with a different crossover. If it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't have noticed that with the 3838ci you can set each speaker with it's individual crossover. Just go to speaker setup, speakers can be set to either large or small and a select crossover can be set for each.
