OK, so I have been out of the audio loop since my heydays, and need some help. Can someone please clarify for me the benefit (other than reducing wires) of having the HDMI outputs built into the receiver vs simply plugging the HDMI directly from into my television and separately making a digital audio connection from dvd to receiver?
I'm on a tight budget and love the sound of the 3806 so if the HDMI connectivity in a receiver is purely an ease of use/"nice to have", I'd prefer to save my $$$ for upgrading other components. Any thoughts?
