Denon 3806 - ML Mosiacs - No Sound

I recently returned a Yamaha RX-V2500 and picked up a Denon 3806. I have everything hooked up and I only get picture with no sound.
Here's the scenario...
I have the satellite going into the 3806 (HDMI IN), then I have an HDMI cable coming out of the 3806 going into my TV (Toshiba DLP). I then have my DVD player hooked up through component and a digital coax.
Now, I get a picture using either source (DVD or SAT), but no sound.
I have gone through the manual and setup everything that I can see, and yet I still cannot get the sound to work.
Has anyone else had this problem with the 3806, or a similar problem for that matter. If so, can you offer up any advice?
Thanks in advance.

Are you able to get sound through the speakers through FM?

Are you sure that you have the speakers plugged into A in zone 1?

Have you assigned the digital coaxial input your using to associate with the dvd player?

1. No, I don't even get static.

2. I had them hooked up to Front R and Front L. I changed it to Surround A and still have no sound.

3. Yes, the DVD player is assigned to COAX2.

I'm totally stumped.

I think at this point I would reinitializing the processor and start from scratch. It's in the manual, and when you do it all settings to back to the factory defaults. This just to be sure some setting is accidental wrong and causing your problems. You then carefully go through the setup process again.

Okay, I'll try it and see what happens. I appreciate the two of you offering up advice.

I would also try running the test tones to see if the receiver's putting out any signal. And make sure Mute is not on.

No audio from DVD using 3806

Hi There:
Have you set the DVD player audio setting to BITSTREAM instead of PCM ? I had the same problem with my 3805 and it rocked as soon as I changed that setting. It is not mentioned in the DENON manual. Good choice on DENON 3806.
Thanks,

Does your Tosh have to be turned on to get sound?

RTFM is always a good policy, or call your dealer.
