Hi. I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I am currently using my 3805 as a 5.1 sydtem. I purchased a set of out door speakers to use as zone 2 and that seems to be the problem. I assigned amp assign to zone 2 but when i select zone 2 i get nothing from the outdoor speakers, the main fronts are still on. Can anyone help me with this setup.

thanks

I'm not sure about the Denon, but if it has a zone 2 pre out, you may only be turning it on when you turn on zone 2. You may have to separately turn on the speaker output as well. My JVC receiver messed with my head on that for a while. You have to turn on the Sub Room, and turn on speaker set "2".

Just a thought,

I have looked at the manual online, and I believe what I said in the previous post may be what your problem is. By selecting Zone 2 on, that only turns on the pre out for zone 2. This is an unamplified signal that would need a separate amp to drive the speakers. I think to use the speaker out, you have to set the "Power Amp Assign.

Hope this helps some,

This manual looks like it's written by the same guy that wrote my JVC manual. It is about a pain in the butt. Anyways, I wanted to add, make sure you have selected a Zone 2 source that has a signal playing on it. The Main room fronts should still be playing whatever source you have selected in the main room, but you also need to select a source for the zone 2 room (outdoor spkrs). That way, someone can watch TV in the main room, while someone is listening to music outdoors.

BTW, I don't mean to sound condesending, but I think it does sound that way as I read back over it. I'm just trying to help, and I am not sure how experienced you are with the equipment.

Hope this helps,
Mark

I may be wrong, but you may only be able to use Analog source only for Zone2.

This is correct...Zone 2 is not capable of playing from a digital source. Also, make sure your Zone 2 volume is adjusted...factory setting is -80.

You probably just need to turn up the volume, zone2 default is -75db or so. You must use the remote for the zone2 volume adjustment. Select zone2 on the remote and hit the volume button.

Zone 2 3805

Thanks everyone for the info. I have it running now the Zone two and 3 will only process analog signals. Hate to admit it but my problem was volume setting.

Thanks again.

Hello,
I seem to be having the same problems. I set up the Zone 3 amp to run my outdoor speakers but I am only seem to be able to get volume from the tuner. The manual is no help, but it looks like from what everyone is saying, that zone 2 and 3 will only play analog sources, and not digital?

Thanks for your input.
