Denon 3805 does not show display from composite source

Does anyone know why the 3805 does not show on screen display from a component source? For example, the DVD player is routed into the receiver using the component outputs (then routed to the TV using component) and the volume does not show up when changed. But, the DirecTV receiver using S video does. Strange.....

Denon not showing volume through component input

No manufacturer has figured out how to get the onscreen display to work through component inputs while the picture is on the screen. With my Yamaha RX-V1400, I get the onscreen display in order to change settings on the receiver, but the display is on a blank screen, rather than superimposed on the tv's picture.
