Denon 3805 Delay time setting...Need help

Hello all. I've been attempting to set speaker delay time but can't input the exact measurements. For example one setting is 14'6" but the system won't let me input the .6" so I round up to the nearest foot. From the instructions it appears that you can input the exact measurments but it won't let me. How do you input the eact measurements? What am I missing?

Also, the instructions says that once you've selected the speaker to be set the picture of that speaker selected blinks. Is this for on screen display only because I don't see any thing blinking on the AVR screen? Which leads me to my next issue. How do you set up on screen display? (note: I have it set to on in the AVR). I have the Mits TV (see sig). I've read the instructions and even found some info here but still can't get it to work:confused: . I will do more searching to see what else I come up with though

Thanks for any help

Uhm

I have mine set to the nearest number. I think the decimal number is used when you're using the larger scale to measure distance. I think the blinking appears only on the display menu and when your doing a test tone adjustment.:)

Thanks for the info. I probably will use the meter measurement because I want it as exact as possible.

I wouldn't worry about the difference in exactness between whole feet (12") and tenths of a meter (about 4").

More important is that you set the distances (or delay time) so that the sound from each speaker arrives at an "ideal listener position" at about the same time. You have to choose where this "ideal listener position" is, but in reality not everyone can sit there. And no one sits so still that his ears are always in the same exact location - we move around. Furniture also can move around with time. So rounding off to the nearest foot works fine.

in fact either setting( ft or metres) the remote will input an exact setting! Just use the arrow button located beside the vol. & ch and that enables you to enter a decimal number using feet .1 to .9 and .1 to .99 if using metric. As was mentioned also in the above post, within a few inches is good.
