i just bought a denon 3805 and had a question that i was wondering if anyone could help me with. in the instruction manual i have saw how you can delay the audio in order to make it sync up with the lips. however the problem i am having is that the audio is playing at a delay to the video. is there a video delay option that i am missing, or is there a way to speed up the audio so that it all syncs together correctly?

i have a hd/dvr cable box and a denon dvd 1920 both hooked up to the reciever by both optical cables and rca cables so that i can use zone 2 for hole house sound. the picture from both units is input through component connections into the reciever and then by component from the reciever to the tv.

thanks in advance for any help.

Simple answer is no. I don't know of any receiver that has an option to delay the video feed

Does this happen with both the cable box and the DVD player?

If its just the cable box, I'd say its out of sync at the box or further up the line, in either case there is not much you can do unless the cable box has an adjustment for this.

I believe this is a rare problem as it is usually the video that is delayed due to processing etc and the audio sometimes needs to be delayed to bring it in sync with the picture.

There may be an outboard hardware device that could do the job, but I've had no experience with any.

cheers:)

yes, this problem is happening with both the cable box and the dvd player. i was afraid the answer was going to be that there is no way to adjust this way, but i was hoping for a miracle. i'll have to keep playing around and see what else i can find out.
