Question/help.

I have a Denon 3805, a Samsung HLN617W1, and Time Warner digital cable with a Scientific Atlantic Explorer 8000 HD (DVR).

When I run the cable box to the DLP with component video cables, great picture.

But, when I try to run the cable box to the 3805 with component video and then from the 3805 (component monitor out) to the DLP (component in) the DLP does not recognize the signal. Nothing.

I'd like to use the on-screen setup to configure the 3805 and elminate a remote.

Any suggestions? Is this a Denon set-up issue or Samsung issue?

Did you check your input setup assignments for the 3805? Factory default is DVD=Video1, TV=Video2, DBS=Video3.

You won't be able to see the onscreen display unless you put the component cables from the 3805 into component 1 on the Samsung DLP. For some reason, it isn't recognized on component 2 or 3. Also, if you have HDTV, you must use component 2 or 3, and not component 1. I figured this out the hard way-- after pulling my hair out.

I do have HDTV. With on screen only working only on DLP component 1 and HDTV only on DLP component 2 or 3, does that mean I can not get BOTH on screen and HDTV? after ~$6k that would suck!
