So I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and get a PS3 for Bluray. I am clueless when it comes to the bitsteam stuff. My Denon has optical, coax, and 8.1 analog (which i know the PS3 has no multi-analog) and am wondering what will be the best option for connections and settings.

i.e. if I run an optical can I play the bitstream and get the HD audio options?

That's your only option to get the bitstream but it will only be DD and DTS non HD formats (or coax). In order to get the newer formats you will need to upgrade your AVR to one that accepts HDMI and decodes the new formats. Or wait for one of the newer BD players coming out that decode internally and output via the analog outputs. Then you can run them into your analog inputs on your 3805.

That's why I got it!!

It's all setup and running, but I can't get the Nyko Bluwave remote to work :(

Oh, well.

Over all my HD expoerience has been pretty good. I took my HDDVD player back to Walmart when they put out the offer, sold my movies to a friend (broke even overall as I also sold the 5 free movies), and then bought my PS3 with 100 goft card. Not bad.
