Denon 3805/3910 Gabriel dvd dts stream issue

Any 3805/3910 owners have this strange problem? I just got Peter Gabriel's 'Play' videos dvd, and in the DTS stream my 3805 is cutting the sound in about 1/2... in other words, I'd normally be blowing out my ear drums at that volume. Normally things are getting pretty loud at -15db's, and then -10, -9, -8 gets to the point of very very loud.
Okay, so I am on the main menu, select dts, play Sledgehammer, to my surprise everything goes quite (I had the menu up a bit), and then I start to turn up the volume until I realize that its maxed out? I would have to compare this to about -30db's. Wtf? By the way, this is not an issues in 2ch stereo, or 5.1 dd surround, just the dts track. Also, this is not a problem with any other dvd's playing in the dts mode as I verified it. Perhaps something is wrong with the dvd itself?
Oddly enough, I had gotten P Gabriels Growing up dvd, and they were kind enough to give me two dvd's in a package that was only suppose to contain one!

Do you have the latest firmware update? I know with the 2200, 2900 and 5900, there were some discs that had problems with DTS tracks, and the firmware updates fixed my problem with my 2200.

Hi, thanks for replying. I do have the latest although they are the European version. I just downloaded the US cd's yesterday, so maybe I'll load them in as it seems folks are having good success and no known issues doing that.
Thanks!

I've had this same issue with the 5805/5910 combo. A friend of mine had the same issue with his 3805/3910 combo & I had the same issue with the Anthem D1/3910 combo.
If you use multichannel analog connection, this is not an issue, but.....
My friends Pioneer 59TXi/59AVi does NOT have this issue

Geoh, are you saying that you had the same problems with that specific PG dvd? If so, it would leave me to believe that its a problem with the dvd's themselves?

Yes the Peter Gabriel "Play" DVD is the one I'm having issues with.
When you try to play back the DTS portion of the disc the volume level goes so far down that you have to crank up the volume to insane levels just to achieve a listenable (barely) volume level. If you switch to the DD portion of the disc, no such problems, volume levels are normal.
I had this issue with all Denon units and the Anthem D1. But if you output the DTS portion via the DVD players multichannel analog outputs volume levels are normal.
However same disc played through the Pioneer combo (56/59TXi, 59AVi via iLink) with DTS active yields the correct volume levels regardless.
Go figure.........

Okay, cool. So I'm obviously not the only one have this problem with that dvd. Thanks so much for the info. I will do the US update to see if that corrects the problem. If not, I guess I will just listen to it in DD, or send the dts stream over the analog side of things.

Thanks for your help!
