I am wondering if any one can help me choose which av receiver is better denon 3400 vs yamaha 1070? my speakers are definitive tech 9080

Not knowing anything particularly about why either appeals to you or what features/connectivity needs you have....I'm a Denon fan and the 3300/3400/4300 would be something I'd personally consider depending on deals available. So describing what you need it to do particularly other than drive those two speakers....

I believe either will do an equally fine job of powering your speakers.
It really depends on what features you need.

If the DT BP9080 are also your only subs, then I would use the dual Sub outputs on the Denon X3300 to hook up the LFE Inputs of the BP9080, set speakers to Small w/ Subwoofers, and use Audyssey Dynamic EQ.
