I'm new to the forum and have a question about the denon 301 system. Does anyone here have it? I am in the market for a new home theater, was in Best Buy today and liked the 301 system. How does it compare to buying all the separate components? I also listened to the Klipsch F1's and can buy the whole F-1, center channel, rears and sub for about the same price as the 301. Please let me know your opinions. Thanks.

I wouldn't buy it. It hurted my ears when I listened to it. It sounds like a $200 Sony/Pioneer system or a little better than that. It would be a good buy if you are looking for some furniture to improve the decor of your room, but not if you are looking for great sound.

I do not recommend Bose normally, but for you I can say check out Bose 3.2.1. They are priced similarly (or may be Bose is cheaper) and are a hell lot better than the Denon. I bet you'd be lost in the best sound.

But then again, if I had even a medium sized room I would buy something else, save money and get better sound quality. I doubt S-301 would be enough for even a medium sized room.
