Perhaps I should clarify what eq I have first. I have a samsung LCD with DVI. I currently have a sony DVD/vhs recorder hooked to it. It was a little pricey(sony dvd player) but is a nice player although it is not universal. I am look for something that will take advantage of my lcd dvi and give me the versatility to play region free and PAL dvd's.

Also, I wondering that without an AV receiver can I enhance my audio by plugging into the tv some satellite speakers. Would the DVD player be able to drive speakers?

Without a receiver and some decent speakers you really aren't going to benefit from a universal player; you might as well stick with the current player - the region free/PAL is a different story though. I am pretty sure the 2910 can do PAL, and I think there is a region free firmware update available. Not sure about the S2500.

I was think of putting my Yammie 1400 in the bedroom in favor of a Denon unit in the main room. Also considering the architectural series Axiom in wall for the bedroom. Im not sure how those sound though. They look nice.

I agree, without a receiver purchasing a DVD player such as the 2500 or 2910 would not be worth the investment neither of these players is cheap. But to answer your question the Yamaha does not support DVI while the 2910 does so this may answer any question regarding which to purchase, although the Yamaha has superb component video.
