Denon 2910 front panel flashing HDMI/720P?

Is there anyway to stop this?

According to the manual, it says:

"The HDMI, DVI, 480P, 576p, 720p, and 1080i indicaators flash when the connection is being checked, then stop flashing, remaining lit, once the check is completed."

The problem I'm having is when I'm playing a regular CD, not a DVD. The "HDMI" and "720P" keep flashing because it can't check/find the signal. Is there anyway to stop this? It's not a huge deal, but it's kind of annoying to be listening to a cd and, out of the corner of your eye, see this steady flashing on the front panel of the 2910. Am I missing something, perhaps in set up? Anyway to make this stop flashing with regular cd's? Thanks for the help.

I just checked mine and it does it too, but turnining the tv on stopped it from flashing. It's so tiny I never even noticed til I was standing in front looking at it. Maybe if you use a reciever with an hdmi connection it will stop flashing.

Or you could just use the remote and turn the hdmi off. That would be kind of a pain to constantly turn it on/off, but the flashing light would go away. I guess it depends on how much it really annoys you.

There may be a way

I have a 3910 and it does the same thing when I'm not using the HDMI connection to play back a DVD video through my TV (and I don't have an HDMI-enabled receiver). As they say at Microsoft, "It's not a bug, it's a feature." It's probably supposed to tell you that if you expect a signal to be output via HDMI to your TV or HDMI-enabled receiver and you aren't getting a signal, that the cable is defective or unplugged.

On the 3910, you can go into Pure Direct mode via the remote control and turn off the 3910's front panel display, but this also turns off all video circuitry and digital processing of the audio signal as well.
