Denon 2900 & DVD-R

Is it true that dhe Denon 2900 is having trouble reading DVD-R?
What about the 2910?
Please share your experience!

I just picked up a used 2900 and watched a couple "deathblow" movies which were copied on DVD-R. Played them no problems at all.
