My brand new denon 2807 is give me the following problems:
1. The codes to sony dvd, toshiba tv and scientific atlanta cable box are not being setup
2. Sometimes the receiver doesn't turn off or on with the remote. i have to manually turn the machine on/off
3. sometimes I'm unable to change the mode from the remote. Infact, volume contrl is the only function that works on the remote. Other times its all fine.
Please help!

Denon Remote

Sounds like you are having some problems with the remote. Try a fresh set of batteries and point the remote directly at the IR sensor on the receiver. If that doesn't solve your problem, I would call denon and request a new remote.

As far as a universal remote, you might be better off with an LCD model like a Harmony or a Home Theater Master.

Very slow response

I have conected my VCR (which outputs my wired building video channels) to the video-in of my Denon 3807 and my satellite receiver to the HDMI input.

Both our output from my HDMI out to my Sony Bravia.

Whilst switching channels on my satellite receiver there is a minimal delay before the channel is shown on the TV yet when I switch a channel on my VCR's tuner it takes a long time for the channel to appear on the TV it is as if it is going into HDMI mode each time. Anyone has any ideas?

VCR video

If you plan to use an inferior video source like the VCR, consider running a composite or svideo connection directly from the receiver or VCR to the TV. This will solve your HDMI delay issue.

If I did that then I will have to switch the TV from hdmi to composite or svideo each time I switch from the receiver to the VCR. I dont mind a slight delay when I switch between devices but I cannot understand why each time when I switch channels through my VCR the delay is there.

Balancing front speakers

I'm having a different speaker setup problem. I'm using the Front A outputs for my main room and Front B for a set of speakers on my patio. I guess because of the difference in speakers, I am getting a vastly reduced volume level on the outdoor speakers. Does anyone know of a way to increase the power level sent to the Front B outputs? I couldn't find anything in the manual.

I took home a brand new 2807 and started hooking it up to my componets. I assigned my Sony BluRay DVD to HDMI 2 and my Direct TV DVR (DBS) to HDMI 1. HDMI Out (Monitor out) is connected to my Samsung DLP(1080P) HDMI conection pin. I cant for the life of me select my Direct TV DVR to display on my monitor nor can I watch a DVD on my Sony Blu Ray. I don't understand why this receiver is so darn hard to get up and running. Can anybody help me??
