Denon 2805 sending source to another 2805

Hi All,

I have two Denon 2805 receivers. I have one receiver hooked up to drive my home theater setup and the other to power other rooms.

My main receiver has the DVD, CD, Apple Airport Express and Sirius Radio inputs. I want to able to share these inputs with my second receiver, while watching/listening to something completely different. I have hooked up a patch cable (RCA) between the two receivers.

The main receiver is outputting ( I hope) out of the Zone 2 output in the back. I have set up the amp in the set up screen to not use Zone 2 speakers. I have plugged the output from the main receiver into the VDP in on the second amp. I get no signal.

I know both amps work, so I would appreciate any suggestions on how to make them play well together. :)

Thanks,

David

I would think you would need to have the Zone 2 pre-out go to a specific input on your second reciever, say VCR2 (or whichever you prefer). Also run the S-video Zone 2 output to the same source input on the second reciever. It is important to remember that your reciever will not pass a digital signal to the second zone. Whatever source you want to share must be connected to you main reciever via an analog connection.

If that doesn't help, try calling Denon's tech support at:

800-497-8921 Option 2 or
201-762-6665 Option 2

Or try emailing them at:

Good Luck

You DO need to turn the Zone 2 speakers ON in the main receiver in order to get its Zone2 pre-outs to function, too.

Right?

He said he's using the VDP input, which should work fine.
