I have a Denon 2106, and Phillips HDTV and a Charter MOXI cable box, with a DVD Player also. I have my video connections comming through the Rec, and have Digital inputs from the DVD and the MOXI. The TV has no digital sound inputs. Is there a way to output a analog signal to the tv with each input ie DVD, TV. I can run rca into the reciever also if a need to, I don't think it will downconvert the audio signal. Any help would be appreciated. Otherwise I will have to put the DVD and TV on seperate inputs on the tv, then I cant use the OSD on the reciever. I am just trying to simplify this setup some.
Thanks Steve

So you are not using external speakers connected to the receiver and want to use the TV speakers? That would be the only reason to connect audio to the TV.

You are correct that most receivers will not output an analog signal when the original input was digital. You would have to use analog connections to the receiver for all of the devices (dvd, cable box) and then use one of the video outs (which include audio) to connect to the tv. For example on my receiver Video 1 has both inputs and outputs and if I were to use analog connections for the dvd player and cable box to the receiver and then composite video and analog audio outs from Video 1 to the tv, it would accomplish what you want.

My rec is in the living room and occasionally I don't want the surround so loud so I would like to use the TV volume. My rec has two analog audio outs they say vcr1 and vcr2. Nothing to go with each device.
thanks for the reply
