Hi all. New here, with a question. I've asked at numerous other forums before, as well as speaking with tech support, and cannot find a solution to this problem. Maybe someone here can help, cause it's driving me nuts.
I just hooked my 1909 up a few days ago. I have a PS3, Oppo DVD player, and XBox 360 connected to its HDMI ports and then a single HDMI cable running from the receiver to the TV (52" Sony XBR4). With any of these HDMI sources, at random times, it seems the receiver will just drop the a/v signal briefly. I will be watching a movie, and all the sudden the sound and video will cut out for a couple seconds, then come back. Nothing shuts off, but the display on the receiver will blank out for a second (i.e., the part that says it's playing a DD5.1 track or whatever). The most annoying aspect is that I had this EXACT same problem with two previous Sony receivers that I was trying before this. Here are the trouble shooting steps I have taken so far, all to no avail:
-tried using different HDMI cables
-tried using different DVD player, PS3, etc.
-tried plugging receiver directly into wall, instead of surge protector
I am really, really getting annoyed by this problem because nothing seems to fix it, it has happened with 3 different receivers from 2 different manufacturers, and no one I have talked to knows what the issue is. Does anyone here have any ideas?
I'm not sure if this is useful, but here's some more info that may help diagnose. I live in an apartment complex. Whenever I turn the receiver on, or my subwoofer, the lights in my apartment will blink really quickly. It's not a constant blinking...just once immediately as those devices are being turned on. This has led some to suggest that it may be an issue with a faulty ground? I don't know. I'm at my wits end here, so any help would be much appreciated.
