Def Tech floor standing BP-8080ST or Mythos STL??

I am piecing my system together slowly...I currently have 4 pro monitor 1000's, a CS-8080HD center. I plan on getting Marantz 8801 and 8077. My question is go with the new mythos which not only look better, but seem better built (not top heavy or wobbly like it will fall over)? Has anyone had similar thoughts? Any issues with the BP-8080ST's or not liking the bi-polar sound? I heard that if you have a larger room the bi-polar's don't carry as far as one like the mythos that curves and points forward...Which floor's should i go with??

Those are your only choices? :D

I think direct radiating speakers are "safer" than bipolar speakers, which are a lot more dependent on the room and placement.

I liked my BP7000SC a lot over the Mythos, but perhaps my room and placement is just felicitous for the BP7000SC. :D

So for me, I would get the bigger bipolar - if those are my only 2 choices.

well normally isn't it better to stay within the same brand/quality speakers by def tech?? BP-8080ST is the biggest for the bi-polar and the stl is the latest of the mythos. What else would you recommend?

Oh, sorry, I missed the part where you already have the 8080 center. :D

Personally, I would get the 8080 towers, assuming you have room to pull the towers about 24" from the front and side walls.

What is the return policy from your dealer?

I own the 8080s and just upgraded to the ST-L's which should arrive at the end of the month. I don't really have any complaints about the 8080s I just felt that the highs on the mythos, even though the response is the same, would be a little better.

Let us know what you think once you've had some time with the ST-L
